Q-Tip Painting

These are some fall trees that we made today using q-tips to paint! We started out the activity by writing Fall Leaf Poems. We began by brainstorming the types of leaves we see in the fall (ex. red, orange, big, small, smashed, blended colors, etc) Then we talked about what you can do in the leaves by listing action words (ex. jump, run, hide, throw, etc). The students then wrote their poems and made their q-tip tree painting. I saw the idea for this tree using q-tips on another teacher's blog, so I can't take credit for the art idea but I was pretty pleased with how well the students did with this writing / art activity! They thought it was cool to paint with q-tips!
